Frank Bansel
Actor, musician and arts educator, Frank has worked in theatre, film, radio and television and with musical ensembles ranging from choirs to blues bands, originals and covers bands. He has worked in theatre and musical theatre as an actor, singer, designer and director in genres as diverse as Gilbert and Sullivan, contemporary rock opera, cabaret and pantomime. In Shagpile Frank shares lead vocals, provides background vocals, plays guitar and congas. Shagpile provides Frank with the opportunity to play fun music across a range of styles and eras. His favourite song in the current Shagpile playlist is Steely Dan’s “Reelin’ in the Years” which I guess is what Frank is doing with Shagpile right now!

Ben Wells
Ben has been playing guitar and bass since his teens, performing in several high school and college performance groups and bands. He also played drums in the now defunct Hobart punk metal band Stalker Pavilion, and is currently attempting to learn violin, much to the disdain of his fiance and neighbours. In addition to lending bass chops and the occasional backing vocal in Shagpile, Ben has considerable experience in audio production, live sound reinforcement and recording, having worked with artists as diverse as Primum Mobile, Grand Silent System and Leo De Castro.
Mark Sealy
Mark is Shagpile’s drummer but works in finance for his day job. Mark learnt his drumming in school bands and cadet drum corps, also playing with many Hobart covers bands in the 70s and 80s. Mark hopes that one day the band will let him play his clarinet, just to avoid the drummer jokes for at least one song.
